The VST Group diversified into manufacturing and promoted VST Tillers Tractors, in association and joint venture with the Mitsubishi Group, Japan in 1965. The factory was set up on the outskirts of Bangalore and began with the production of single cylinder diesel engines and power tillers (2-wheeled tractors).

Way back in 1920 the VST Group made a humble start by dealing in petroleum products. Using this strong base, the Group quickly diversified into automotive marketing and after-sales service. From this activity grew the network of the organization throughout the southern states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

In 1984, VST Tillers Tractors entered into an additional technical and financial collaboration again with the Mitsubishis, Japan, for manufacture of compact four wheel drive tractor with rotary.

The tradition and culture of the VST Group continues in this company in spite of it having adopted new management techniques to face global challenges.

Consequent to its long and close association with the Mitsubishi Group of Companies, VST Tillers Tractors Ltd., has effectively absorbed the latest technology and work culture.
