About the Company

Somany Home Innovations Ltd. (SHIL) is a newly created Corporate Entity of HSIL Limited, vastly recognised by its Brand Hindware, a leading name in the Indian market. SHIL was incorporated as a public unlisted company under the Companies Act, 2013 on 28 September 2017 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Pursuant to the Composite Scheme of Arrangement approved by the National Company Law Tribunal, Kolkata Bench, the marketing and distribution of Consumer Products and Retail divisions of HSIL Limited (HSIL) were demerged from HSIL and vested into SHIL.

Further, the marketing and distribution of Building Products of HSIL is vested into Brilloca Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SHIL. The Company’s equity shares were listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on 26 December 2019.

SHIL is focused on servicing end-consumers in the market and is involved in branding, marketing, sales, distribution, trading, service etc. of Consumer Appliances under the Brand name ‘Hindware’, ‘Moonbow’ and Furniture Retail Business under the Brand name ‘Evok’.

Business area of the company

The company’s Consumer Products portfolio consists of a selection of household appliances. The kitchen appliances, such as kitchen chimneys, cooker hoods, built-in hobs, cooktops, built-in ovens, sinks under the brand Hindware Kitchen Ensemble are leaders in numerous categories. Its brand Hindware Atlantic houses water heaters whereas its brand Moonbow by Hindware houses water purifiers and air purifiers. It sells air coolers and ceiling fans under brand Hindware Snowcrest.

Also, the company forayed into the furniture and kitchen fittings segment, through a strategic marketing tie-up with Italian company, Formenti & Giovenzana www.fgv.it. The collaboration is operational under brand FGV powered by Hindware and enables the company to distribute a wide range of quality and functional hardware products in India, for the modern furniture and modular kitchens, such as normal and soft close hinges, side and bottom mounted drawer channels and drawer systems.

2019: Fastest Growing Consumer Appliances Brand ‘Hindware Appliances’: The title of ‘Fastest Growing Consumer Appliances Brand 2018-19’ was bestowed to Hindware Appliances during the 12th edition of Asian Business & Social Forum 2019 held at Mumbai and organised by AsiaOne magazine and URS Media International.
