About the Company
Incorporated as Alpa Laboratories Private Limited on March 18, 1988 under the Companies Act, 1956 and converted to public limited company on September 3, 1998 with the name of Alpa Laboratories Limited. The company has been listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange since August 6, 2007.
Alpa Laboratories Limited is a WHO-GMP and ISO 9001:2000 certified company located at Pigdamber, about 15 kilometers from the city of Indore in Central India. The company has been manufacturing Pharmaceutical Finished Dosage Forms since 1967. With its focus on quality, the company has earned tremendous faith and confidence of its associates.
The manufacturing facility is less than 20 kilometers from the center of the city of Indore in Central India and is spread over 1.20 acres. The facility has dedicated manufacturing areas for different Finished Dosage Forms (FDFs) including liquid injections, dry injections, tablets, capsules, eye drops, ear drops, ointments, creams and gels. The production areas are designed to maximize output quality and quantity with minimal down time.
The facility is WHO-GMP certified and all manufacturing areas are supplied with independent air supply systems for individual department. The independent supply systems are fed with separate air handling units to avoid cross contamination. Pressure gradients are maintained and monitored and the required air quality of class 100, 1000, 10,000 and class 100,000 is maintained.
Business area of the company
The company manufactures a wide range of products under its own brand and for a number of other reputed Indian and multinational companies. The product range includes a wide variety of ethical, generic and over the counter (OTC) drugs in various Finished Dosage Forms for both human and veterinary use.
Capsules: Equipment used for the production of hard-gelatin capsules are automatic filling machine, feeder, sorter, inspection machine and polishing machine. The filled capsules are packed in high speed automatic strip and blister packing machines suitable for various sizes. The company has the ability to produce both powder filled and granule filled capsules.
Creams, Gels & Ointments: The semi-automatic machines perform the entire process of filling, sealing & crimping of the tubes in various tube sizes of Creams, Gels, Ointments, Sterile Ophthalmic Ointments and Sterile intra-mammary infusions.
Ear & Eye Drops: This department houses sophisticated machines such as automatic sealing, capping, labeling, carton forming and wrapping machines.
Injections: The parenteral is produced in a sterile area and fed to the automatic machines for ampule or vial filling, rubber bunging and cap sealing. A similar process is used for dry powder injections.
Tablets: Rapid Mixer Granulator and Fluid Bed Dryer are used to produce the material for compression in various shapes which is carried out at various multi-station, single and double rotary tablet compression machines. There are coating machines for various types of coating of the tablets. A similar process is used for boluses.
